My last IMO - IMO 2008 comes in less than 3 weeks. It will be the IMO with most participants ever. 104 countries have registered, and 100 of them are sending contestants! :)

 

Shortly after the IMO, in 3 weeks I am leaving home for MIT :) Can't wait for that as well!

 

 

 

The Olympiad was held during 4-10 May, 2008.

It was one of the best Olympiads ever :) Macedonia is a very beautiful country, particularly Ohrid City and Lake Ohrid are very nice..

I got the first Silver Medal..  hope for better at the IMO :)

After long searches on Google :) i believe i have finally found the official website of the above-stated olympiad.

Of course, I'm member of the Moldavian Team :)

 

 

A bit later, anyway: here you can find the problems, the PDF file, and links to the MathLinks threads. I was first at the Team Selection Tests, scoring 7777/ 1777/ 7771. I cann't figure out why I got 1 at the last problem, since my solution was exactly as theirs, but anyway. I am waiting now for my last olympiads - BMO 2008 and IMO 2008 :).

 

Weird enough, I did all problems except the first one , which is supposed to be the easiest.

Yesterday we had our first Team Selection Test. I guess I did well. I left after 3 hours and a half, being too tired to do multiple checkings of the solutions.

We have our next Team Selection Tests on March 29 - March 30, so there's no chance to know results until then.

It was held on March 1-2. I have uploaded the problems h e r e. I did rather well :P took 53/56, with 7 7 7 6 7 6 6 7. :)

Among the news.. Not long ago, I've been to Romania, to Romanian Master In Mathematics. I had a rathe bad day :)

THe Romanian team suprised me very much with a birthday gift :) This was so pleasant! :) They gave ame  T-shirt with Matrix and a beautiful knife. I want to thank them very much.

Some time ago, I have officially joined Project PEN, which continues to grow. Now there are 4 good problems with Solution files uploaded. Check them out :) !

I have found a nice blog about IMO 2006 Slovenia here. It is written by an observer from Singapore. As he mentions in the entry Day 3, I and Vitalie met him one night and had a nice conversation.

The blog is very nice and has plenty of photos - sweet memories :).

Anyway, now i'm waiting my next and last imo - IMO 2008 Spain! and for the results from universities :)

I really gave up all 'conclusions' and 'promises/wishes'. And I hope I'll never experience such 'sincere dreams' again. Really - they never come true as we want them to. And if they do, it's not our 'dreaming' that makes them become true! After all, there's nothing special with the night 31Dec / 01Jan, or with going into a New Year - YOU do not change. You just think you may change yourself...

I hope this metamorphosis is a step higher, not lower... Probably it even couldn't've happened otherwise.

 

btw... I do want smth actually - do More math in the future (NOT in the New Year ;) ).
